     英譯漢還有一個(gè)比較特殊的問(wèn)題要心中有數(shù)。我們用白話文翻譯的時(shí)間并不長(zhǎng)，如果從民國(guó)初期算起，歷史不過(guò)百年。近代白話文與當(dāng)代白話文雖然就整體上說(shuō)并無(wú)二致，但二者在成熟的程度上差別還是很顯著的，具體表現(xiàn)為結(jié)構(gòu)詞(特別是“著”、“了”、“過(guò)’〕和人稱代詞的準(zhǔn)確使用、流水句段的自然安排、遣詞構(gòu)句的社會(huì)接受(如被動(dòng)句的使用)等等方面.當(dāng)代漢語(yǔ)都有顯著的改進(jìn)。我們舉一個(gè)例子:張谷若是哈代原著知名的翻譯大師.張譯在20世紀(jì)五六十年代以前仍可謂“無(wú)懈可擊”。但時(shí)代發(fā)展了，文風(fēng)演進(jìn)了。深圳翻譯公司四級(jí)新題考試要考下面是張譯《苔絲》中的一段:

        Nobody looked at his or her companions. The eyes of
    all were on the soil as its turned surface was revealed by the
    fires. Hence as Tess stirred the clods, and sang her foolish

    who worked nearest to her-a man in a long smockfrock
    who, she found, was forking the same plot as herself, and
    whom she supposed her father had sent there to advance

    visible to each other but divided from all the rest.
